Hope: Compassionate Decluttering for your mind and your home, One Piece at a time
Counselling
Each of us have our own difficulties in life, no two people are the same, valuing where you are in your life and how events have effected you with the help of a counsellor can help to bring clarity and motivation. I offer a patient, gentle, supportive way of working ensuring our relationship is a solid base for moving forward therapeutically.
The way I work is to put you, the client at the center, to offer you the space to explore, talk and offer you the warmth and comfort to do that in. I hold honesty and integrity at the heart of my work and truly believe that through offering my true self I offer my clients the space to be their true selves. I am currently offering video / phone or Walk and Talk counselling.
Decluttering
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and an experienced decluttering professional. I am offering a service personal to each person, either counselling, decluttering or blend of both offering a bespoke, holistic, compassionate, empathic way of decluttering. Sometimes people are offered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to support and empower change. There are many decluttering services available however. My service is different as I offer both emotional and practical support. I bring my counselling skills and experience to look into the emotional and cognitive aspects of why people struggle to let go.
A Bit About Me
In 2017 I started volunteering for We Care Home Improvements (WECHI) helping people in their homes to declutter through the ‘Making Space’ project. Parallel to this, I was in training to be a counsellor - it was the perfect match, bringing the skills of listening and working therapeutically together to blend with the ethos of working in a client-centred way with ‘Making Space’. I was fortunate enough that I was offered a position within the employed team of 'Making Space' where I continue to work. As my counselling training and Hoarding Disorders (HD) experience developed, my love for learning more about HD grew too. Over the last few years I have absorbed research, books, documentaries and seminars on HD. When lockdown hit, my role within ‘Making Space’ paused but my passion for helping people with HD didn’t. I started to create a service that offers what others don't, a blend of counselling and decluttering. And thus, the creation of ‘Hope for Hoarding’ - compassionate decluttering, one piece at a time. See my services to find out more.
